SUBSEA 7 AT OTC 2017 - CREATING VALUE THROUGH INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

01 May 2017

One of the key themes at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is the demand for new technologies and methods that add value and reduce cost to support the industry, as it adapts to a lower priced environment.

At OTC 2017, Subsea 7 will present its strategic technology programmes with a focus on developing and applying innovation and technologies that reduce cost, enhance production and extend field life.  At booth #2038, Subsea 7 will highlight enabling technologies for longer tie-backs that can extend reach through Electrically Heat Traced Flowline tie-backs and the development of Swagelining polymer lined pipelines and risers, to extend application and reduce system cost.

Subsea 7 will also present two technical papers in the poster lounge at the conference:

  • Paper 27690 - The Application of Fibre Optic instrumentation for HPHT Pipeline Bundle Health Monitoring.

  • Paper 27722 - Combining the Most Efficient Active Heating Technology with Subsea Electrical Distribution to Develop Remote Resources.

Collaboration and adopting new ways of working are critical in adapting to the market environment.  At OTC 2017, Subsea 7 will demonstrate how it is collaborating to deliver optimal field development solutions through Alliances and partnerships, with representatives from its two Alliances, KG7 (KBR, Granherne and Subsea 7 Alliance) and Subsea Integration Alliance (OneSubsea and Subsea 7 Alliance) available to discuss opportunities.

i-Tech Services, a Subsea 7 company, will be present on Subsea 7’s booth with experts available to discuss i-Tech Services’ suite of low-cost and long-term life of field products and services including drilling and well support, inspection, maintenance and repair, and decommissioning services.  i-Tech Services will highlight its emergency pipeline repair system and capabilities in engineering effective life of field solutions in deep water environments.

Oeyvind Mikaelsen, Executive Vice President Commercial, Subsea 7 said: “The innovative culture at Subsea 7 is unlocking value and reducing costs for our clients through technology programmes, commercial models and in the alliances and partnerships we have established.

“Coupled with our track record and experience in project management, engineering and EPIC capability, we look forward to demonstrating how Subsea 7 can significantly add value, reduce costs and support clients adapt to industry challenges and a lower priced environment.”

Subsea 7 is exhibiting at the Offshore Technology Conference from 1-4 May in Houston, booth #2038.
