Background
I previously worked for Angus Council for 5 years as a Local Authority Official in the Planning & Transport Department, before moving into the Subsea Industry at Subsea7.
I studied Quantity Surveying at Dundee College of Further Education, and then gained an Honours Degree in Building Control from Glasgow Caledonian University.
Subsea7
Since joining Subsea7 I have gained Associate Membership of the Chartered Management Institute.
I have been involved in a number of Current Tenders and have;
• Reviewed tender documents ultimately producing Bid- No Bid decisions.
• Compiled Tender Summary Sheets, distributing accordingly.
• Been involved with the preparation of Tender estimates and business risk assessments.
• Reviewed and clarified contracts, inserting qualifications and evaluated sub-contractors/
clients responses,
I have also on a number of dealt directly with clients, advising them accordingly with regards to Subsea7’s ability to carry out any proposed works.
The opportunities for training and development have been excellent so far, and I am enrolled on a number of courses throughout 2006.
Future
I see myself in Business Acquisition for the foreseeable future and would like to progress into a Senior Proposals Engineer/Proposals Manager role in the next 3-7 years. If asked where I would like to develop my career further, I am interested in Strategic/Client Account Management & Project Management roles.
I have also expressed an interest in Studying for an MBA, and have been offered an unconditional place at RGU subject to funding and approval from Subsea7.
