Robbie Dougal, Business Services Graduate, HSEQ

Professional
• I was schooled at Robert Gordon’s College from 1990-2001
• I graduated from RGU with a degree in Business Studies, 2005
• As part of my degree I worked for Edinburgh Technopole, a prominent science park, for a
year as a Marketing Assistant, 2003-04
• I worked for 3 months, in the summer of 2005, in procurement for Hydrasun before joining
  Subsea 7
• In 2004, I led a team to 2nd prize in the Scottish Institute for Enterprise National Business
  Plan Competition.

Since Joining Subsea 7 in Sept 2005
• I have been working in the HSEQ dept.
• Initially as part of the environmental team, I helped facilitate the ongoing creation of an online
  MSDS database
• I’m now primarily working on the quality side of things with work including supplier audits, audit
reports, helping determine whether equipment such as ROVs and TMSs conform to national
  quality and HSE standards.
• Some engineering graduates and myself formed a team and entered the Prospects Cup
business simulation game and came 4th in the whole of the UK, winning three trophies: the
Scottish Cup, the Engineering Cup and the University of East Anglia Rosebowl.

The Future
• I hope to gain as much experience in the coming years on the Business Graduate
Programme as possible, finding a department where I can be highly satisfied and highly
productive; and secure a permanent place within the organisation that is prosperous for both
  myself and the company.
• In the distant future, my main professional goal in life is to own and run my own successful
  business.
